I didn’t want it to end …
In her debut novel, Candace West has accomplished what most seasoned writers do not accomplish in their lifetime: Writing directly into someone’s soul. This book is about redemption, forgiveness, and the determination to do what’s right, no matter what the circumstances may be. Lane could have taken the easy road and give in to the life she was dealt, but she paved her own path, and in that path, found what everyone dreams of finding…her own true way. This is a book that I didn’t want to end, and I was very emotional when it did. I will be feeling this book for a long time to come. ~ Teresa
Great book
I’ve recently had the chance to read a book for a new author and let me tell you, it was amazing. A lot of my friends know I love the horror, suspense, and drama genre but this one is totally different for me. I wasn’t sure about it because it’s more of a Christian theme but I’m so happy I finally picked it up and started reading.
The whole story is set in the early 1900’s and is about a young girl name Lane Steen who was kidnapped by her father when she was two. She suffered abuse at his hands and never truly felt loved but was introduced to God’s amazing love through a series of events. (A new schoolteacher coming into their town, reuniting with her mother and grandfather, and making new friendships) Not ashamed to admit, I was so tied into the characters that I found myself laughing, crying, and being angry right along with them. I knew the hurt that was felt. I’ve asked the questions they did myself. How and Why would God ever love someone like myself, after all the mistakes I’ve made? How was He not disappointed? Maybe some of you have those same thoughts and I truly recommend that you check this out. Maybe you can find a little healing like I did.
